Proba: Greener Supply Chains for hard-to-abate industries
Proba provides a platform and a standard in order to certify GHG Projects. Proba encourages decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors, like chemical, fertilizer, construction & bio-based materials industries. Proba helps you by converting your climate action into tradable Impact Units, which you can sell to your supply chain partners to improve the business case of your sustainability project. This not only creates new revenue streams for you but also helps your partners reduce their Scope 3 emissions.
Proba makes sure the GHG impact of the project is real, additional, independently verified, unique, not counted or claimed already, and doesn’t have negative side effects to (local) environment and communities.
Technical Details
Proba is a carbon credit issuance platform that facilitates the onboarding of multiple parties. It is built using a combination of decentralized and cloud-native architectures and technologies.
The cloud-native solution features a distributed backend built with Python, Golang, and Node.js, utilizing both NoSQL and SQL databases for efficient data storage. The frontend is developed with React and RTK, and includes Blockchain-Wallet integration to support all the essential features of the Proba platform.
The decentralized solution leverages Blockchain, Smart Contracts (using the ERC-1155 multi-token standard), and IPFS technologies to ensure ownership, traceability, and verifiability of issued credits.
The Proba platform is deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with a focus on high security and availability, utilizing a fully serverless architecture.
TESTIMONIAL
Frank de Zwart – Proba
We are delighted with the support of DecentralCode in setting up our Proba platform to fulfill our ambition to decarbonize supply chains of hard-to-abate industries. Their technical expertise on Blockchain, Smart Contracts and IPFS technologies have been crucial in our ability to track, verify, and trade carbon credits throughout their lifecycle. We highly recommend DecentralCode to any organization aiming to use blockchain technologies, especially for environmental impact projects.
